Edzell Lethnot Glenesk Guild encouraged to visit Iona community

Edzell Lethnot Glenesk Guild met at Edzell Church on Tuesday, March 26 President Glenys Small gave everyone a warm weclome to everyone present, including the Rev Alan Watt and his wife Ann who gave an interesting talk on the community of Iona and Lindisfarne.

They encouraged everyone to visit Iona this year to celebrate the 1450th anniversary of the death of St Columba.

Rev Watt then proceeded with the Iona Service.

Glenys thanked them both on behalf of the Guild.

Rev David Gray blessed the offering and Sylvia Mealls played the piano.

Following tea and biscuits the annual general meeting took place.

Minutes of the a.g.m., from 2012 were read by Doris Alston and accounts were presented by Margaret Dayman. Both were approved.

Officers for the coming year are as follows: president - Glenys Small; secretary - Doris Alston; project partner - Dorothy Pert; Margaret Dayman - treasurer. The leadership team will remain the same with the addition of Una Abbot.

Glenys thanked everyone for their loyal support.

The meeting was closed with all saying the Grace.

On Saturday, April 6 the Guild are holding a daffodil tea in the Church Hall from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission if £2.

There will be bottle, cake and candy and flower stalls. Tea and coffee will be served. All welcome.
