grants available
in Scotland

Conservation groups throughout Scotland are being urged to take advantage of cash grants that have become available to help them with their work.

A spokesman for Community Service Volunteers said they had more than £47,000 to give away to organisations to help them with conservation and environmental projects in their community.

He said they had just launched this year’s Action Earth campaign and thanks to a partnership with Scottish Natural Heritage hundreds of grants worth £50 to £250 were available to groups, charities, schools and businesses to support environmental projects in their communities.

“Our campaign hopes to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to get outside and improve their local environment,” said CSV’s Action Earth Manager, Katy McTernan.

“This could be anything from simply planting bulbs to transforming a derelict patch of land or creating a colourful wildflower meadow,” she added.

She said that as well as the grants they could offer support so that everyone in the community could benefit from the end result.
