A local couple held a charity fancy dress fund-raiser to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.
Rosemary and Eddie Small decided to fund raise for Southampton General Hospital after Rosemary’s mum, Ina Shanks, suffered an aneurysm whilst on holiday in Portsmouth recently.
Ina was transferred to Southampton General Hospital where she had her aneurysm coiled.
For several weeks Ina was in a coma and, after spells in Southampton, Portsmouth and Ninewells Hospitals, she was transferred into the care of the stroke unit at Stracathro Hospital where she is continuing to recover.
Rosemary said: “The night was lovely, with friends and family in attendance.
“Donations of gifts and money were received from several Brechin businesses, who we would like to thank for their kindness and generosity for our cause.
“The final amount raised is still to be announced as we are still waiting for some donations to come in.
“It was decided to raise money for Southampton General Hospital as a thanks for all the support and help their gave when my mum was a patient there.

“A big thank you to David and Cindy for organising everything it was a great night.
