The “Brechin Advertiser’s” Pen Appeal saw the first delivery posted off to Afghanistan last week.

Thousands of pens were sent from Brechin Post Office to Captain Lisa Irwin, who will ensure they are delivered amongst the children in the war torn region.

Johnston Press proprietor, Michael Johnston, was on hand with “Brechiner” reporter Steve Mitchell and Angus County Press MD Angus Morrison to make sure as many children will benefit as possible.

The appeal will continue over the next few weeks with the next batch we hope to send coming not only from members of the local community and local businesses, but also with considerable input from the area’s local primary schools and Brechin High School.
