Patients, staff and visitors at the Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar are enjoying a new art exhibition showcasing the works of local artists and friends Esther Bruce and Mary Smith.

The exhibition opened in April and will run throughout the month of May.

It features oils, pastel and acrylic works by the two Forfar artists mainly featuring landscape scenes from across Scotland.

Esther and Mary took up painting as a hobby in 2001 and attended art classes together in Kirriemuir. They have continued ever since and are both members of the East and Old Parish Church Art Group.

Exhibitions at the centre are changed every eight weeks and the majority of the works of art are for sale with each artist donating 20 per cent commission on all sales to the Whitehills Arts & Environment Fund. All money raised is used to enhance the Whitehills environment.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition.
