A hospital unit at Stracathro Hospital has benefitted from a generous donation from the Friends of Stracathro.

The charitable group presented staff from the Susan Carnegie Unit with three brand new blood pressure monitors last Thursday (February 5).

A spokesperson for Friends of Stracathro explained: “These are very sophisticated pieces of equipment which measure blood pressure and are pulse oximeters. They are clutter free and not intimidating.

“The cost to the Friends was £2,097 and once more we were delighted to add to the high quality facilities offered to the patients unit.”

The pulse oximeters part of the machine allows a patients oxygen levels to be monitored.

The Friends of Stracathro are also looking for a new member to join their committee, following the recent retirement of one of their members.

Ruth Leslie-Melville explained: “We have just had our annual general meeting and were sad to accept the retrial of one of our colleagues.

“We are looking for someone who is interested in the future of Stracathro Hospital to join our committee.”

“If you think that you might be interested in becoming involved, then please contact me on 01356 625259.”
