THIS Easter, Brechin businesses are clubbing together to host a series of great events for the whole family.
The ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ begins on Saturday, March 31 and will run throughout the whole week until Saturday, April 7.
A number of offers will be available from local retailers and the Northern Hotel will be hosting a colouring competition.
One of the main events will be the ‘Eggceptional Easter Egg Trail’.
Suitable for all the family, follow the trail and see how many posters you can find in participating shop businesses.
All you have to do is pick up a quiz sheet and follow the posters, which display an item which can be found in only one Brechin store.
The posters are all jumbled up so it is much trickier than it seems.
Identify the location of as many rogue photographs as you can and then hand in the quiz sheet to the Brechin Advertiser office to be entered into the prize draw.
There will also be an Easter Bonnet and Bunnit competition which is open to all.
Invitations have already been sent out to local schools and nurseries for the children to take part, but everyone can take part.
Once you have your creation ready take it along to the Brechin Town House Museum where all entries will be displayed and judged.
A great prize is in store for the winner.
That’s not all you can enter if you’re feeling more than a little creative.
There will also be an Easter Egg Decorating Competition, for which all ages can design their own boiled egg.
Just bring along your creation to the museum by 10 am on Saturday, April 7 so the organisers can be put on display for judging later in the day.
The entries will be available for collection after the judging for those who wish to take their masterpiece home.
It is not just shops taking part in the fun as the cafe’s on Saturday and the Northern Hotel on Sunday will also all be presenting special Easter menus.
The Stables will be hosting a talent competition on April 8 from 2.30 pm for under 18s.
Budding stars should contact either Joyce or Alan on 01356 624449 to enter.
A spokesman for the Brechin Retailers Group said: “We thought that the poster trail competition would give everyone something a little bit different to do during the Easter holidays and help to raise awareness of just exactly what you can buy in Brechin.
“We have such a diverse and ‘eggciting’ range of businesses.
“You’ll find almost everything you need for daily living in the Cathedral City - from key cutting to television repairs, florists to fragrances, fresh meat, fish and cheeses, fruit and vegetables, clothing and household goods. We also have our own cafes and food take-away outlets.”
Further details of all these events will be published in next week’s paper.
