BRAVO Brechin’s bid to bring a giant water slide to the town as part of their events in the town.
The plans have been given support by Angus Council, who has agreed to fund the venture by £4941.
In report to the council’s Development and Enterprise committee, members heard that the water slide and dinghies will be an added attraction at local events.
In particular it is hoped that it will encourage younger people to become more involved in events.
The funding will also enable the purchase of five stalls for use by local voluntary and community groups at events in the town.
Development and Enterprise convener Mairi Evans said: “This is a fantastic proposal and all those involved are to be congratulated for their hard work in bringing it to Brechin.
“It’s great that the council has agreed to support the plans - it promises to be an exciting event for the whole community as well as attracting visitors to the burgh.
“This is the type of ambitious community project which we are seeking to support through the community grants scheme. Nothing is too big or too small - we want to hear from anyone in the county who has a great idea for an event.”
