Staff at Stracathro Hospital’s occupational health and physiotherapy department have thanked a Brechin family for their donation of equipment.

Jessie Christie, her daughter Sheonagh and son Michael visited the unit to see the equipment for themselves on Friday, November 23.

The equipment, which includes a giant connect four set and a curling game, will help to aid patients who are recovering from health setbacks, including strokes.

Colin Christie, dad to Sheonagh and Michael, sadly passed away earlier this year and had spent time in the unit himself during his stroke rehabilitation.

Sheonagh said: “We used the funds collected at the funeral to get something he would have benefited from and enjoyed.”

Heather Orr, an occupational health therapist at the unit thanked the family for their generous donation, adding: “All the items do make a big difference to the variety of therapy we can offer patients.”

The equipment has already been a hit amongst users, with Heather adding: “Patients love it.”
