Brechin residents living with any long term health condition are invited to take part in a free online course to help them adjust to living well with long term conditions.
NHS Tayside is the only area in Scotland to commission places on the online self-management programme which is an internet accessed self-management course for people aged 18 or over who are living with any long term condition.
The course consists of six two-hour sessions, with users logging on at times that suit them over a period of six weeks.
The course can be accessed anywhere there is internet access with a user name and secure email address which are provided at registration and only basic computer skills are required to complete the course.
The course aims to give participants the tools, techniques and confidence to better manage their condition on a daily basis.
Rhona Guild, Primary Care Manager at NHS Tayside, said: “Feedback from those who have completed the course has been very positive, with many people reporting increased confidence, optimism, energy and self-esteem.
“The course also offers the chance to connect with others who suffer from long-term conditions with participants sharing experiences and learnings.”
