A virtual group of mums, who were due or gave birth in 2013, gathered together for a spooky Hallowe’en party last week.
The group, which met through the Facebook page ‘Angus Mummies due 2013’ was created by Montrose mum Jennifer Coull and includes many mums and babies from the Brechin area.
The party saw the babies dressing up in their scariest costumes to raise funds for the unit.
Currently the group, which allows mums to share information and give support through pregnancy, birth and beyond, has 87 members and is open to all mums in Angus who had or are due to have a baby this year.
“The idea of the Facebook page is to provide a forum where women can gain support from other women,” explained Jennifer.
“Women are using the group to talk about their experiences, share advice and post questions about where to get support.”
Jennifer explained the group try to meet up at least once a week at Cheeky Monkey’s and group member Alison Stuart has set-up a weekly meet-up for the group at the Maternity Unit commencing this week.
The group held the Hallowe’en party following a suggestion of group member Nikki Leitch. During the afternoon Tiny Talk Angus and The Mearns held a taster session for the group. A total of £72 was raised for the Montrose Maternity Unit.
