Nigel Don, MSP for Angus North and Mearns, joined many MSPs and staff in Holyrood in having his blood pressure taken by staff from the Stroke Association.
The association is dedicated to providing information on how to deal with a stroke, and they provide support for patients, families and carers who have been affected by strokes.
The Stroke Association held an exhibition in Holyrood last week, in a bid to raise awareness of the destructive effect strokes can have.
They also provided those in attendance with information on how strokes can be prevented.
The Face, Arm, Speech Test (FAST) campaign has been promoted to help people to recognise the symptoms of a stroke.
Speaking after the exhibition, Mr Don commented: “The effect of a stroke can be devastating for both the patient and their family.
“Recognising the symptoms is important so that we can act fast.
“Keeping an eye on your blood pressure is very important in the prevention of stroke, and a healthy lifestyle is the best way to lower blood pressure”.
