NHS seeking non-executive board member

Have your say

NHS Tayside is looking for a new member to join its Board as a non-executive member.

NHS Tayside is responsible for meeting the health needs of around 400,000 people living in the area and provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the population.

Non-executive members of the Board play a central role in guiding the strategies which address the health priorities and health care needs of the resident population and which will have a lasting impact on the delivery of healthcare in local communities.

If you are interested in a challenging and rewarding role which will have a lasting impact on the delivery of healthcare in Tayside, then NHS Tayside wants to hear from you.

NHS Tayside is looking for members from all walks of life and with different experiences, previous experience of being on a Board is not necessary. Some may have had experience as patients, or as relatives or carers of patients and some may have specialist skills or talents which they feel could be of use to NHS Tayside. The qualities NHS Tayside is looking for include sound common sense, a willingness to learn and a passion to improve patient care.

New non-executive members will be provided with training to support them in their role which will take up approximately eight hours a week. These appointments can last up to four years with the possibility of reappointment and, in exchange for their time, non-executive members will receive £8,088 a year.
