During the meeting members of the group will set their agenda for the coming months and Grahame Lockhart, convenor, is appealing to members of the local community to come along and give their input into the process to highlight the issues they feel the community council should concentrate on.
Topics to be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting include: a flood prevention scheme, community campus, cycle link, litter and dog fouling, musical festival, fairtrade, community council finance, vision for Brechin, team Angus, website/community council directory, St. Drostan’s/toilets/playparks, Angus Council’s budget deficit for the City Hall/Damacre Centre/leisure centre, panels/meetings on referendum in 2014 and energy/environment, where householders sharing same energy supplier for cheaper tariffs.
Grahame commented:“As you can see, there is a long list of issues and we want to make sure we are focusing on the matters that the community wants us to.
“Community councillors have a variety of experience and interests and they would welcome participation from our community in setting our course for the next year.
“This is a real opportunity to come and help us set our priorities.”
