People in Scotland are being invited to submit ideas for someone they would like to be recognised with a commemorative plaque.
Historic Scotland’s plaque scheme celebrates the life and achievements of persons from all walks of life, by placing a plaque on their home or a building that’s associated with them.
Submit a nomination by filling in a short form on Historic Scotland’s website: www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/commemorativeplaques which asks why the nominee deserves to be nominated, and what the significance of the chosen building is.
The closing date for nominations is January 31, 2015, and can be made online www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/proposeplaque.
Criteria for nominations include that the person should have been dead for at least 20 years and have passed the centenary of their birth and have made a significant contribution to any aspect of life in Scotland.
