In the run-up to this year’s Angus Council elections the community council has arranged a hustings to take place on Wednesday, April 25 (tonight) in Maisondieu Primary School at 7pm for 7.30 pm.
The meeting will be facilitated by Grahame Lockhart, convener of City of Brechin and District Community Council and Duncan Smedley, chairman of Inveresk Community Council and is open to all members of the public.
Grahame commented: “Duncan and I would like to encourage anyone who is interested in hearing from the candidates for Brechin and Edzell Ward in the elections to Angus Council on May 3 to attend.
“Candidates will have no prior knowledge of the questions to be put to them so it should be a lively debate.”
The six candidates vying for three seats in the Brechin and Edzell Ward are: Janet Cowan, representing the Scottish Liberal Democrats; Mairi Evans and Jim Houston, representing the Scottish National Party; Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate Jane Ferguson; and Independent candidates Bob Myles and Douglas Murray.
