Interim Lead Officer appointed for health partnership

A new Interim Lead Officer for the Angus Community Health Partnership (CHP) has been appointed.

Gail Smith, who is originally from Forfar and now lives in Montrose, was appointed to the role which replaced the General Manager post.

In her new role, Gail will provide strategic direction and leadership to the Angus CHP to ensure the delivery of integrated whole system care appropriate to local needs.

She said: “Throughout my career, I have been passionate about the provision of high quality, patient-centred and safe standards of care and look forward to the year ahead.”

She has over 30 years experience in the health service, originally starting her careers as a Registered Nurse. Gail has also previously taken on roles as Service Manager in Elderly Care and as Clinical Development Manager in Primary Care, subsequently holding the post of Lead Nurse and Deputy General Manager across Angus.

In addition, as the Lead Clinician for the Stroke Managed Clinical Network, she has led and driven improvement in stroke care across NHS Tayside.
