The City of Brechin and District Community Council met on Tuesday past when they discussed ways to involve and communicate with the wider community.
The group are particularly keen to engage more with the younger members of the community and hope to hold a consultation exercise later this year with the younger community to involve them and engage.
The group will also look at the costing of a newsletter, which they may translate into languages spoken within the community, and be distributed to all households in Brechin.
The group will work with the Brechin Advertiser through our Facebook page as a way to get more people involved in the what happens within the community.
On other matters the group decided that two members of the community council would meet with owners of the funeral directors that would be moving into the Woolies building to discuss concerns the community council has regarding the new development.
On of the major concerns that they will discuss with the funeral directors is the issue of increased traffic.
The group heard from Claire Robertson, on behalf of the Brechin Pageant, who was looking for help from the community to help prepare, run and clear up after the Pageant.
Help is required to set up marquees on the Friday before the Pageant and to clear up the park at the end of the event.
Brechin Pageant day organisers are also looking for any group or individual who would be happy to take on the role of Arena Organiser after the which would involve organising and running the arena on Pageant day. Help would be available and there should even be an allocated budget towards activities on the day.
If anyone is keen to get involved contact Ian Atkinson on 01356 622373 or on the pageant email address email@example.com
