Brechin Community Cinema group has received a welcome £250 funding boost - courtesy of Jewsons in Montrose.
The sponsorship cheque was presented to members of the community cinema group during the January 17 screening.
Chairman of the cinema group, Graham Donald, said: “This will be used to support our February 14 screening, where we will be putting on a special showing of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
Audiences were able to pick a movie for the Valentine’s Day screening - with Breakfast at Tiffany’s coming out on top. To make the movie showing that little bit more romantic, the cinema group have a few tricks up their sleeve.
Graham explained: “Downstairs on the night we are going to be having candlelit tables out with a rose and a selection of snacks sourced from local businesses.
“We are also having live music prior to the film starting.
“On top of this you can bring your own wine or a drink of your choice to enjoy while listening to the music and then watching the film.
“The tables are priced at £10 a person and can seat up to four – tickets are available from Newsplus.
“Please note that there are limited tables to be had. Seats for the balcony will be sold as normal on the door on the day.”
The full list of movies being shown on Valentine’s Day are Snoopy and Charlie Brown: THe Peanuts Movie at 1pm, following by That Lady in the Van at 3pm and Breakfast at Tiffany’s at 7pm,
The second movie is being shown earlier than previous occasions, as the doors will open from 6pm for Breakfast at Tiffany’s to allow the audience to come in and enjoy the live music.
Graham added: “Brechin Community Cinema would like to say a big thank you to our volunteers who give up their time every screening day.
“We are always on the look out to add to our pool of volunteers; should you be interested please e-mail us at email@example.com”
