As the first daffodils appear and burst into flower, so does the action required to get Brechin’s Annual Pageant under way.
Brechin Round Table, along with local businesses and community members and groups, are once again staging the Brechin Pageant, which will be held on Saturday, June 4, in the public park.
Round Table spokesman, Ian Atkinson, explained: “This is a massive event for our local area, and once again we call on the members of the public to support it in the same loyal manner as they have done over previous years.
“The Round Table always try to improve the entertainment we provide, and this year is no different!
“There will, of course, be the usual favourites, such as ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and other stalls and opportunities to try your luck to win some great prizes.
“The Pageant Prince and Princess, along with their attendants will, of course, also join us to make the day fun for everyone of all ages.
“A much more detailed programme will be released nearer the time so everyone will know what’s happening on the day!
“One of the major parts of the pageant has always been the procession, which unfortunately has not been possible for the last couple of years.
“However, we are very keen to bring back this important part of the day’s activities.
“Any help, both in the planning or even making of the floats, would be helpful in making the procession happen in 2011.
“We cannot get the procession working without the support of the local community, so please help.”
In order to organise the pageant, the Round Table rely heavily on a handful of stalwarts, local clubs, community groups and residents who, every year, pull out all the stops to ensure it goes ahead.
This help is always much appreciated.
