Monifieth’s annual Medieval Fair and Gala Week has a major new event this year.
On Sunday (June 12) the first DuneFest Cricket Tournament will take place on the beach, with teams from Forfarshire Cricket Club and Angus.
Throughout gala week, which begins today (Friday), there will be wine-tasting, pool and dominoes competitions, children’s beach art, a beach hunt, a karaoke evening and a quiz night. The fun culminates with the Medieval Fair on Father’s Day, June 19. The Knights of Monymusk are the stars of the show putting on performances in the main arena and setting up camp with archery, fortune-telling and more. The beer tent will return, as will the Lowland Games, a marquee for craft stalls, music on three stages, bonnie baby contest (2pm), children’s fancy dress (2.25pm) and a dog show (1.45pm). See Monifieth Medieval Fair’s Facebook page for more details.
