Tayside Aircrew Association held their recent meeting at McDiarmid Park in Perth on Thursday, July 28.
Post lunch entertainment was provided by eldest member Len Trevallion, who joined the Metropolitan Police in the 1930s, serving in London during the World War 2 Blitz during which he survived a number of terrifying incidents.
Len was able to enlist in the RAF in 1942 and served as a pilot in North Africa, Malta and Italy before returning to his career with the Metropolitan Police.
By 1948 he was promoted to sergeant and formed a Vice Squad unit in the Notting Hill area of London and Len related some of the more notable experiences during that period in his career. Thanks were proposed by George Roberts.
The next meeting will be a Ladies’ Lunch at McDiarmid Park in Perth on Thursday, August 25.
