The mothballing of Lethnot Primary School was approved at a meeting of Angus Council’s children and learning committee yesterday (Tuesday).

Mothballing the school, which was set to have a pupil roll of zero after the summer, gives the opportunity for it to reopen should circumstances change.

The views of families living in the school’s catchment area were sought following an earlier decision to consult on the move The report, by Margo Williamson strategic director children and learning, noted: “There have been no comments, queries or concerns fed back to the Council about the potential mothballing.”
