Sir,

Regarding the article headed “Woolies site work to begin” on the front page of the January 20 paper.

Firstly I would like to say I am glad work has started and hopefully the units will be occupied soon. Brechin needs more shops.

Regarding the article headed “Woolies site work to begin” on the front page of the January 20 paper.

Firstly I would like to say I am glad work has started and hopefully the units will be occupied soon. Brechin needs more shops.

But, as I read on I became concerned about certain lines used such as “currently Brechin is uncatered for with regard to clothing” and “we are actively looking for someone who will hopefully deliver a clothes shop which means that it doesn’t compete with anyone else in the centre of the town.”

I would like to say to Mr Shand - open your eyes and look across the street from Woolies and you will see a clothing shop.

Small yes but it has been trading now for two and a half years selling ladies wear and basics for gents and has been doing well due to the great support from locals.

So Mr Shand, Brechin is not entirely uncatered for in clothing.

Yours etc.,
