A BRECHIN couple have raised a fantastic amount for a local Angus cause.

Margaret Baillie, along with her husband Eddie Baillie, raised £900 for the Macmillan Day Centre, based at Stracathro Hospital.

Margaret and Eddie raised the funds by organising a ticketed dance at Brechin Bowling Club.

Margaret said: “I would like to thank everyone for their generosity and for the donations that were given.

“I would also like to thank everyone who helped on the night and in the build up to it.”

Margaret explained that they selected the Macmillan Centre to benefit from the event as it was a cause close to the hearts of many associated with the bowling club, including Sheena Burness, who was at the cheque presentation and has recently completed chemotherapy.

She also added that she wanted the money to go to a local cause.

Staff at the centre thanked Margaret for the kind donation.
