The National Farmers Union (NFU) Scotland are leading discussions with local farmers about dog fouling on agricultural land.
The Scotland-wide campaign aims to get dog owners to be responsible and clean up after their dogs. The NFU are set to submit a petition to the Scottish Parliament to have agricultural land included in the Dog Fouling Act 2003.
Adding his support, Angus North and Mearns MSP, Nigel Don, said: “I suspect that many responsible dog owners are unaware that it is equally important to pick up after their dog while on agricultural land. I hope that the NFU discussion will raise awareness.”
