Chloe's silver screen dream delayed, but very much alive

THE Trinity girl hoping to head to the USA to pursue her dream of acting on the silver screen has been forced to postpone.

Chloe Cuthill was provisionally accepted to attend a two-year course at the New York Film Academy in February, having succeeded in impressing talent scouts at an audition in London earlier in the year.

However, she was left with the almost impossible task of raising 28,000 to pay for her tuition fees alone by the start of this month.

Unfortunately, she was unable to raise that sum and has instead opted to attend a shorter course, starting in September.

The former Aberdeen College student said: "We didn't manage to raise all the funds. In total, we only got 3,000.

"Instead, in September I'm going over to attend an eight-week version of the course, which is more intensive and has elements of the full, two-year course. It also has a few elements that aren't in the two year course, such as acting for comedy.

"But I was still really pleased with the 3,000. It was a great amount and I'm very grateful to everyone who could help me out. The only problem was that the two year course was really expensive!

"Thankfully, I've now got enough cash to pay for the shorter course, and the 3,000 is going towards that. It will cost about 6,000 including living expenses."

The course will see the students produce a film and Chloe is hoping it will give her vital experience for the next step in her Hollywood plan.

She said: "The plan is that, in January, I hope to be going to go to the Los Angeles School for a year. We're going to pay for that ourselves.

"If I don't get to the LA school, my cousin lives in LA and I'll be applying for a four month working VISA so I can go over and audition for things.

"The dream is still alive and it will happen, just in a different way."
