Electoral roll reminder for Angus residents

Angus people who still have to return their annual electoral registration form will shortly receive a reminder through the post to complete and send it back.

John Galbraith, Electoral Registration Officer for Angus and Perth and Kinross, said: “Forms were issued to all households at the end of August and just over 60 per cent have responded so far.

“Registering to vote is quick and simple.

“All you have to do is update the electoral registration form with details of everyone who lives in the household and is eligible to vote; and return it to us as soon as possible.

“If your details haven’t changed you can simply reply by telephone, internet or text message.

“Although there are no scheduled elections in Scotland in 2013, a by-election could be held at any time and you need to be registered in order to vote.

“Door to door visits will be carried out from October 21 to November 16 when canvassers will call at addresses where no form has been returned.

“Anyone who would like more information should contact the local electoral registration office.”

Residents in the Angus Council area should contact the office in Forfar on 01307 462416.
