GPs re-enter discussions on future health provision
NORTH ANGUS GPs have re-entered discussions regarding the future make-up of local health service provision in the area.
Earlier this year the GPs collectively wrote to the chairman, Mr Sandy Watson, to advise him they felt it necessary to withdraw from the Angus redesign consultation process.
A meeting, convened by Mr John Swinney MSP, took place at Kings Cross Hospital Dundee last week where agreement was reached on the way forward.
NHS Tayside Chairman Mr Sandy Watson said: "I am pleased that we have found common ground and that the Angus GPs will resume dialogue around the redesign of services in Angus.
"We can now continue in partnership to look at how best we can provide the highest quality services across the region for the people of Angus."
Commenting after the meeting, Dr Ross Duff said: "We have had an extremely helpful meeting with the chairman and chief executive and I am pleased to say they have taken on-board all our concerns and I am hopeful that we can now move forward together for the benefit of all our patients."
