Edzell Castle and Garden is set to bring history to life this weekend by historical re-enactors who will do weaponry displays and guided tours.
Soldiers and Gardens – a Year of Homecoming 2014 event - will take place this Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m., and will give visitors the opportunity to learn more about the Royalist Marquis of Montrose’s 1640s campaign.
Lorna Ewan, head of visitor experience, content and learning at Historic Scotland said: “Edzell Castle is a wonderful spot for a day out. Soldiers and Gardens promises to bring the history of the area to life, teaching visitors more about conflict in Angus in the 17th century, and the role the castle played.”
