On Thursday, October 17, three highly-respected industry judges travelled to contact centres across Tayside to interview the personnel, teams and companies who are finalists in the Talking Tayside Awards 2013.
“The finalists are from a range of local contact centres, including Aviva, Jobcentre Plus, SSE and Tesco,” revealed Susan Sidey, chair of Talking Tayside, the private/public partnership established by Dundee City Council to develop and promote Tayside’s contact centre industry.
“The contact centres who are members of Talking Tayside employ thousands of people across Tayside and have an excellent reputation as service providers and employers, which helps ensure a highly-skilled, motivated workforce while also helping to attract new contact centres to the area,” continued Susan. “The local contact centre industry is undoubtedly a success story and these awards are a fabulous opportunity to celebrate that success.”
This year, for the first time, the Customer Contact Association (CCA) has been closely involved in all stages of the Talking Tayside Awards.
“CCA has supported the Talking Tayside Awards for a number of years and this year, we are delighted to have been able to increase our involvement considerably,” explained Joanne Seagrave of CCA, who is one of the judges in this year’s Talking Tayside Awards.
“CCA provided guidance to entrants so they knew what the judges would be looking for and, as a result, the standard of entries received this year was even higher than in previous years. Every finalist we met during today’s judging visits highlighted the improvements, developments and innovations taking place throughout the contact centres in Dundee, Perth and Angus and which, in many cases, are being rolled out nationwide.”
The 2013 winners will be announced on November 22.
