Angus Arts is hosting the return of The Little Fawn Caravan Theatre at Glenesk Retreat on April 7.
Created by Shane Connolly in 2010, The Little Fawn Caravan is a travelling theatre space which will be touring Scotland as part of the nationwide Puppet Animation Festival.
The Caravan will be offering two shows and one workshop.
The show, The Great Ta-Da, is a wonderful rod puppet performance with close-up magic and card tricks in the very intimate setting of the ornately decorated caravan. You may be close but you won’t be able to tell how he does it! The show includes a great original soundtrack, lasts approximately 20 minutes and is suitable for ages 4+.
Maria MacDonell of Angus Arts said: “Shows in the Little Fawn caravan are always a treat. The caravan is beautifully painted and transformed into a magical travelling theatre.
“It is the kind of thing that a child remembers as a treasured experience. The morning workshop offers people a chance to make their very own puppets and performance in this special little theatre. People can enjoy lunch at the Retreat and then see the show in the afternoon. We are having two performances.”
The workshop involves shadow puppetry providing participants with the chance to make their own puppet and perform in The Little Fawn Caravan. The workshop will last for one hour, and is suitable for ages four and up. Participants must be accompanied by an adult.
The workshop starts at 11.45am and tickets cost £5.
The shows take place at 2.30 and 3.30pm and last for 20 minutes. Tickets cost £3.
Numbers are limited, and places can be booked by contacting Angus Arts on 01356 648669 or The Retreat on 01356 648070.
