Macmillan Cancer nurses at Stracthro have benefited from a donation from staff from staff at Journeycall’s Brechin and Laurencekirk offices.

Staff from both the contact centre operator offices have raised over £700 in the past year by participating in events such as a Hallowe’en fancy dress celebration to their regular ‘£1 to dress down’ Fridays.

Operations director, Theresa Wishart, explained why the company chose to raise money for Macmillan Cancer nurses: “At the beginning of the year it was decided that Macmillan Cancer Nurses would be our very deserving charity, so it is with immense pleasure and thanks that I can announce that we have collected a whopping £723.68.

“I have personally received Macmillan nurses’ care and attention, so I am delighted to be able to present our donation as a small contribution to help Macmillan with their excellent work.”

Journeycall then upped the donation to £1500 which they donated to Stracathro’s Macmillan nurses last week.

Macmillan nurses are a valued and trusted source of expert information, advice and support for many people affected by cancer.

All Macmillan nurses are registered nurses with at least five years’ experience, including two or more years in cancer or palliative care.
