Photo treasure hunt for society members

BRECHIN Photographic Society gathered last week to view and judge the results of a photographic treasure hunt from October.

Four teams of three had taken part in this event which was organised and run by club member Frank Horrocks.

Frank had set a course round Brechin, out via Bridge of Dun Railway Station, into Ferryden, then Montrose, and through Hillside, before crossing over to Trinity via the back road and returning to Brechin.

At each location pictures of specified subjects had to be taken; some 32 in total.

The team members then selected their team entry by Christmas, with no more than 11 from each team member.

Frank then prepared the pictures for judging, which was done by three club members who had not taken part in the treasure hunt.

The winners were the Green Team, comprising Chris Stanton, Beverley Roberts and George Urquhart. Prizes were presented to the winning team by the event sponsor, club member Raymond Sutton from Montrose.

As well as the actual entries, Frank included a number of candid images he had taken of competitors during the event, and a few of the rejected images, to add a bit of humour to the evening.

Anyone who wishes further details of this or any other club events, please contact the club secretary, Brian Stephen, on (01356) 623 231.
