Water works completed early in Brechin

Scottish Water has completed work in Brechin to flush the water mains around the town ahead of schedule.

Allan MacDonald, project manager, said: “We want to thank local people for their patience and understanding as we carried out this essential flushing work.

“Flushing helps to clean the inside of a water main by flushing water through at an increased flow for a set period of time.

“To minimise the impact of this work to customers we carried out the flushing during the night.

“Our contractors Morrison Construction carried out the work on our behalf and we want to thanks them for the efficient execution of the project. We have received no complaints from local people regarding the water quality, which means we have managed to complete the work without any significant discolouration occurring.”
