Wildlife issues reported

Inveresk Community Council heard of damage to fox snares at their recent meeting.

PC Iain MacPherson reported that there had been a complaint about wilful damage to fox snares on a grouse pen outside of Brechin. He added that it was a legal snare and that if anyone should see a snare they are unsure about then they should contact police on 0300 111 2222 rather than attempting to do anything about it themselves. The police are currently following a positive line of enquiry.

PC MacPherson updated members on a Red Kite that was found dead in May this year. Tests showed the bird died of natural causes.
