Members of the Arbroath Male Voice Choir have once again attracted a top name for their concert this year in the Webster Memorial Theatre.
Audience members are invited to join one of Scotland’s oldest musical ensembles on Friday, March 20 in the intimate setting of the Webster for a fabulous and unforgettable evening of music and song with special guest Melanie Gowie.
Hailing originally from Carnoustie, Melanie studied at both Cardiff and Glasgow.
From 2007 to 2010 she starred in the West End production of ‘Phantom of The Opera’ as Carlotta, to critical acclaim.
Melanie returned to her studies in pursuit of an operatic career and made her operatic debut last summer playing the role of ‘La Rondine’ by Puccini.
With over 40 men on stage this popular east of Scotland choir will bring audiences the power and passion of male voice singing with selections from the popular, classical and musical theatre repertoire under the direction of Sheena Guthrie.
The concert follows a piano recital in his home town by Alasdair Cameron on Sunday, March 15 at 5 p.m.
Alasdair has been described as “one of Scotland’s foremost pianists” and his programme includes music by Chopin and Liszt. Ticket details from 01241 435800.
