Edzell’s charity walker Bobby Campbell, MBE, reached the 1000 mile mark in his latest fundraiser

endeavour.

Bobby, who is well known in the area for undertaking walks for various causes, is currently in the midst of a 2300 mile walk for Save the Children.

He had originally planned to walk 1000 miles, but opted to increase the length earlier this year in order to raise even more money for the charity.

Bobby hopes to raise a total of £2300 for Save the Children - a £1 per mile.

He said: “We’ve raised £1300 so far so I think we are going to make our target.”

Bobby has been walking five miles every day since he started his walk earlier this year.

The funding for the charity was also boosted by an abseil by Ian McDougall, who is a friend of Bobby’s.

Save The Children Angus committee members Ros Fletcher, Rosie Elphinstone and Isobel Luke all joined Bobby at Edzell Arch on Tuesday, October 6 to mark the completion of his 1000th mile.
