Since being awarded £3,000 from the Bank of Scotland Community Fund last year The Attic have run Pool Leagues over the past six weeks. Winners and runners-up from each league then went forward to a knock-out final event. From an initial 47 players, 16 qualified for the finals being a mixture of younger and older and both male and female members. In a thrilling and at times tense competition, the final was contested between Kevin Stewart and Matty Allan, with Matty coming out on top as 2014 Champion.
Brian Mathieson from the local branch of the Bank of Scotland, who nominated the Attic for the Community Fund, kindly agreed to come along and present the trophies to the finalists, a gesture greatly appreciated by all involved in the project.
