New chair sought for Inveresk council

Inveresk Community Council paid tribute to outgoing chairman, Duncan Smedley, at their recent meeting.

Judith Gallacher said Duncan had “tirelessly followed up local concerns and queries at meeting and in your own time”. He was also thanked for his work on the council website. She added: “On behalf of everyone, we want to wish you well and we hope you enjoy your free time to spend in the hills and with your family.”

Council members are presently chairing on a rota basis, but a permanent replacement is required urgently. The next meeting is at Inglis Memorial Hall on January 19 at 7.30 p.m.
