A new Post Office ‘local service’ will be available at the Montrose Street Post Office in Brechin, launching on Friday, March 4.
The service will be provided at an open-plan counter at Dennis’ store at 267 Montrose Street, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the till.
The Post Office service will be available during the store’s opening hours, 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 7pm on Saturday. The opening hours which will increase by an extra 25 hours of Post Office service every week will ensure that the branch is much more convenient with more choice of when to visit.
The new Montrose Street Post Office will be delighted to welcome customers to the newly refurbished branch. Local residents and small business customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can also pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
Montrose Street Post Office will have to close at 5.30pm on Wednesday, March 2, for the refurbishment to take place.
During this short period of closure Post Office services may be accessed from any Post Office branch, including Brechin Post Office at 11 Swan Street and Edzell Post Office at 8 High Street, Edzell.
Anne Clark, area manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
