BRECHIN High School recently took delivery of their new school minibus after a fund-raising campaign led by the school’s Parent Council.
The Parent Council was successful with a funding application to Awards for All for £10,000 last session.
They organised a series of fund raising events that included a bucket collection at Glebe Park, a race night at Park View Bowling Club, a quiz night at the Caledonian Hotel and a coffee morning in the City Hall.
Kind donations were also received from individuals in the community and from the staff at the Bervie Chipper and the local postmen.
The pupils also made a significant contribution by participating in a sponsored walk in Kinnaird Estate and by making a donation from their school show.
The school is grateful to Mr Stuart Jaffrey from INP Signs for agreeing to put the finishing touches to the minibus.
He kindly agreed to design, manufacture and install a set of attractive and eye-catching signs and the all-important Brechin High School crest!
Photograph shows Julie August, chair of the Parent Council, and Fiona Knowles, former chair, handing over the keys to Steve Dempsey.
