THe popular Forfar support group for those who have suffered a stroke may have a new name, but their aims remain the same.

The Forfar Stroke Club meets every Tuesday morning in the Forfar Fire Station, providing an ideal meeting place and opportunity for those who have had a stroke to meet together to share their experiences and to take part in a wide range of social activities.

The club is now affiliated to Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and is self-financing.

It is run by a committee with Olive McIntosh as chairman and Harry Finlay as vice-chairman.

New members are always welcome to the meetings, which have now broken off for the summer holidays and will resume on Tuesday, August 2, running from 10 am to 12 noon.

Anyone wishing further information is asked to contact Davina Farquharson on 01575 575489 or Linda Reid on 463848.

The meeting room at the fire station is accessed at the rear of the building and there is plenty of parking available.
