Angus North and Mearns MSP, Nigel Don, backed the ‘World’s biggest Coffee morning’ which was in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The MSP spent last Friday afternoon at the Brechin and Edzell Macmillan Cancer Support Committee’s afternoon tea, held at the Mechanics Institute. The event was an afternoon of music, cake and tea.
Macmillan Cancer Support provide help to people who are affected by cancer, those who live with cancer and also to the families, friends and communities who are affected by cancer Macmillan provides funding for professional health care specialists, nurses and to build cancer care centres and also give assistance to people within their homes.
Mr Don said: “I know that many of my constituents have experience of the effect of cancers on their families and friends, and we all have reasons to be grateful to Macmillan for their care.
“I am heartened by the readiness of folk to hold coffee mornings and very encouraged by the numbers who support them.
“Is there a better reason for a cuppie and a cake?”
