THE HOLE in Dundas Park, which featured in last week’s Brechin Advertiser, has at last been refilled, over 18 months after it first appeared.
Frustrated residents of the street had tried, and failed, to locate the owner of the hole to have it refilled after it was first dug to allow Scottish Water to carry out work to a drain.
Barriers that had surrounded the hole had lain flat on the ground for months allowing children to play within the hole.
And, with winter fast approaching, there were concerns snow could cover the hole creating a potential hazard for anyone who was unaware of the situation.
However, on Wednesday, November 14, the day the Brechiner was published, workmen arrived at the site and the hole was at last filled and safety barriers were removed.
A spokesperson for Scottish Water confirmed: “A new frame and cover has been fitted and barriers removed from the site.”
