Edzell’s Post Office will officially open at its new site on Monday, February 16.
The Post Office is relocating from its current site at 22 High Street to The Wee Market Shop at 8 High Street as part of a modernisation scheme.
The current site will close at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, with services transferring to the new site at 1 p.m. on the following Monday.
The service will be provided at a combination counter in the store, where the Post Office terminals will sit alongside the till.
Post Office services will be available during the store’s opening hours, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
In a statement confirming the move, the Post Office said: “The new Edzell Post Office will be delighted to welcome customers to the new branch. Local residents and small business customers will be able to access the wide range of Post Office services during the extended opening hours.”
The new opening hours will allow residents an extra 58-and-a-half hours a week to access services.
Suzanne Richardson, Post Office Ltd’s regional manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”
She added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of the decade.”
