Staff and board members of the Dalhousie Centre have thanked everyone who helped raise £462.25 at the coffee morning in aid of Macmillan.
The idea of hosting a coffee morning was suggested by a member of staff who thought it would be a good idea this year for the centre to take part in Macmillan’s ‘Big Coffee morning’.
Staff, board members, friends and family all helped in various ways to ensure it was a great success.
It was also very encouraging to have such a good turnout of members of the local community who were served some very tempting cakes.
Along with a well-filled cake and candy stall, there were two raffles and thanks are due to all who donated prizes and bought tickets to bring in a significant part of the total sum raised.
Doctor Robert Martin, chairman of the board, commented: “This was an excellent suggestion from a member of staff and board members were delighted to be asked to help.
“Macmillan resonates with almost every member of our community as very few families avoid a brush with cancer in one of its various forms.
“Our local community is always very supportive on Macmillan whether for the centre at Stracathro or nationally as was the case with the coffee morning.
“I would like to thank everyone involved for making this such a successful event.”
