Partnership groups meeting to take Brechin forward

THE Damacre Centre will be the venue for a meeting of the newly merged City of Brechin and Area Partnership and the Brechin in Partnership groups on Wednesday evening (tonight) at 7 pm.

Those in attendance will be given an update on an action plan that has been drawn up for the town.

The plan provides details on a number of projects, outlines progress to date and gives timescales.

The projects include the production of a heritage leaflet and a welcome pack/promotion brochure for the spring of next year.

Among the longer term projects is to improve parking in the town for businesses, residents and visitors and also improve public transport timetables and services in Brechin and the surrounding area.

Other issues to come under the action plan focus will include proposals for the Inglis Memorial hall in Edzell, support for the annual Brechin Pageant and an update on the Watson Watt Memorial project.

There will be updates on the Townscape Heritage Initiative, town centre regeneration and flooding issues in town.
