The people of Brechin are being thanked for their generosity after a fund- raising raffle run by the manager of Brechin City Youths 2002.
The team was raising money to help towards the cost of travelling to a tournament in Blackpool in April.
To realise funds, a raffle for a gallon bottle of whisky was organised by the management, including Billy Rattray.
Thanking the people of the town, Billy said: “I would like to acknowledge how generous the people of Brechin are.
“As manager of Brechin City Youths 2002 age group, I have been running a raffle to raise money towards paying for the team to attend an Easter tournament in Blackpool, with the grand prize being a gallon bottle of whisky.
“A great number of people throughout the town bought tickets and I would like to say a huge thanks to those who did, along with The City Royal, The Bridgend Bar, The Stables and The Brechin Arms who all sold tickets on my behalf.
“Thanks also go to The Co-op who allowed us to carry out bag packing and sell raffle tickets on Saturday, December 7, and to Bill Sturrock at Print Matters for providing the tickets for the raffle.
“The raffle was drawn on Sunday, December 15, in The Brechin Arms by Colin Gordon who drew white ticket number 53 with the winner being local man Jim Dobson.
“Once again, many thanks to all who contributed to this fund-raising effort.”
