Plea for help with Brechin Pageant

Brechin’s Pageant organisers have issued a plea to the community for help to ensure the continued success of future pageants.

The Brechin Pageant, traditionally held in early June, has been organised by the Round Table for the past 20 or more years.

However, with fewer Round Table members the group is now asking for help from the community for future events.

Mark Reynolds, member of the Round Table, explained: “Membership of the Round Table has gradually dropped over the years and for the past few years we have relied on the help of volunteers to bring you the Pageant.

“Since the 2012 Pageant we have been giving a large amount of consideration to the future of the event and the part it plays in the Brechin social calendar.

“To that end we are appealing for help from other community groups and individuals to help organise the next and future Pageants.

“We think that there are number of different tasks which could easily be taken on by other groups, some of which include organising the stalls, arena, and designing and producing the programme.

“While this is not a complete list of the roles undertaken we feel it gives and flavour of what is involved in bringing together the Brechin Pageant.”

If you feel that you are able to help organise the Pageant next year, however big or small, please contact the Brechin Round Table on

If you would like to find out more about what you can do to help the group why not pop along in person to the Damacre Centre on the Monday, December, 17, at 7 p.m.

There you can offer your help or can simply ask any questions regarding the Pageant.
